I really had to push my limits as an actor: Farhan Akhtar

Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar talks about things that matter to him - both personally and professionally.

Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar (above), who was last seen on the big screen in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), is a busy man. While he is looking forward to the release of his much talked about Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, where he plays the role of ace sprinter Milkha Singh, he is also looking forward to working with actor Vidya Balan in Shaadi Ke Side Effects.

Talking about playing Milkha, he says, "It was a big challenge. I really had to push my limits as an actor because this character is so different from who I am in real life. I am very confident about its success."

As for Shaadi Ke Side Effects, the 39-year-old says, "It is a romantic comedy in which I am working with Vidya. I will be starting the shoot by next month."
Interestingly, the actor, who was set to give a live performance after almost a gap of two years at Channel V's Nokia Indiafest in Goa, revealed, "The best part about live performances is that it gives you an immediate sense of connect with the audience and you get to know if or not the audience is enjoying the gig. I plan to sing songs from Rock On!! and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara at the show."

Ask him if he has any plans to return to TV after his stint with talk show Oye! It's Friday!, and he says, "Not right now, as I am busy with my films."
