Speculation is rife that Deepika Padukone’s character in Break Ke Baad, the commitment-phobic Aliya, has been modelled on ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Now the buzz is that Imran Khan’s character Abhay bears an uncanny resemblance to the actor.

Seems when he met his fiancée, Avantika Malik, Khan was also on the crossroads, clueless about what he wanted to do. He’d dropped out of college and wanted to explore television, may be take up direction, but things were not working out. Then, he ran into Malik at a party, found a soul mate from whose side he hasn’t strayed in the last eight years, and discovered acting.

Break Ke Baad

Khan confirms that his situation was a lot like Abhay’s a few years ago. "So being in a relationship and not knowing where my life was headed is something I could relate to," he says.

Like Khan and Abhay, Aslam too believes in the institution of marriage and insists that the “break-up” happened only on screen. He tied the knot last month with actor Shruti Seth who he has been dating for the last five years.

Now, Khan is reportedly said to be planning a January wedding. And ironically, this piece of news comes at a time when he’s promoting a film about a break-up. However, Aslam maintains, “It’s not a film about a break-up but about a relationship.”
