The actor, who started out in the music industry at the age of 16, and is now 23, has bagged herself a role with Irrfan Khan in her next, Bangkok Blues. The film also stars Ranvir Shorey and is a romantic thriller. Shaw feels that it is a genre that isn’t commonly seen. "It isn’t a message giving film. It’s a one liner on the complexity of modern relationships interwoven within a thriller," says Shaw.

Shaw will be seen essaying a role previously played by Waheeda Rehman. And she will be doing so, without seeing the classic. “I was asked to watch it, but before I got down to doing so, Tigmanshu asked me not to,” says Shaw, who being from UP herself, found it easier to perfect the nuances of her character, who is also from the northern state.
