Makers of Dhadak have unveiled a new poster of the film, giving us a glimpse of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, in a completely different light from what we saw in the first trailer released recently. An official adaptation of Marathi hit Sairat, Dhadak was slammed online for changing the entire crux of the story -- underplaying the caste divide in the original story and adding unnecessary luxury and style to Dhadak. The latest poster offers some hope that Dhadak may not be all about glamour around a love story.
Sharing the new poster, producer Karan Johar tweeted, “A LOVE STORY! #dhadak! 20th of July watch this unconditional story of first love...unconditional love....deep love....and thank you for all the love!! 30 MILLION VIEWS IN 48 hours! @ShashankKhaitan #Janhvi #Ishaan”
A scared Ishaan is seen seeking shelter in the arms of an equally troubled Janhvi in the poster.
Dhadak, directed by Shashank Khaitan, will hit the screens on July 20. Sairat, the Marathi original, traced the story of two teenagers battling the rigid caste system for their love. Janhvi steps into the shoes of Rinku Rajguru while Ishaan takes on the role essayed by Akash Thosar in Sairat.
