The makers of Jannat 2 are receiving much flak online. Reason: buzz is that the poster of the film has been ripped off from 2011 Hollywood film, The Mechanic. Both the posters have similar artwork, and as soon as the poster was made public, people noticed the similarity.

Meanwhile, the promo of the film, starring Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta, has generated buzz that the film is inspired by Nicolas Cage’s Lord Of War.

The opening scene of the promo is similar to the opening scene in the hit Hollywood flick, where Cage gives out statistics about international arms deals. However, director Kunal Deshmukh defends, “I don’t think my teaser poster is similar to The Mechanic’s. Mine is a thematic poster about a man who sells guns and I think this was the best way to show it. There seems to be some similarity in colour and theme, but it’s unintentional.”
