Actor Sayani Gupta has been part of commercial as well as parallel cinema, but she does not put “films in boxes” when she is about to sign a project.

“If it’s a story that I want to be part of, I go ahead without thinking which bracket should that film be put in. I believe in only good cinema and I want to be part of every good project that is made and play every good role that is written,” says Gupta.
The actor, who started her acting career in Bollywood with Margaritta With A Straw, went on to do films such as Fan, Parched and Jolly LLB 2, and she is grateful for getting the kind of opportunities, which she has.
“I understand that I am very fortunate to be able to do this because millions of us come to this city with same dreams and pretty much same kind of talent. But there are very few who are able to the kind of work they want to do,” she says.
Gupta will soon be seen in an Indo-British film and she is thrilled to be part of an industry where she can meet new people. “The best part of our profession is that you get to work with different people and that’s the fun of the job because you are collaborating with different sensibilities. To be able to do that, that’s very exciting and any part that challenges me,” she says.
