The hit actor-director jodi of Kangana Ranaut and Anurag Basu has reunited once again for romantic drama, Imali. It was Anurag who launched Kangana in the film industry with Gangster; they also delivered the hit ensemble film Life in a Metro together.
Kangana, who is currently in London shooting for Mental Hai Kya, said in a statement, “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around the end of the year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him… I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.”
Kangana also has Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s sports film after she completes work on Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi.
Interestingly, when Kangana worked with Anurag on Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kites, reports claimed a rift developed between the two as Kangana blamed the filmmaker for giving more footage to Barbara Mori in the movie. The new announcement puts all such speculations to rest.
The male lead for the film is yet to be finalised and it will be a romantic movie. Imali is likely to go on floors by the end of 2018.
