Karan Johar and Kajol: Looks like they are friends again… thanks to KJo’s twins

The first-look photo of Karan Johar’s twins, Roohi and Yash, has brought joy to more than his social media followers. The ‘awww’ moment has brought his old friend, actor Kajol back to him after a bitter rift.

Filmmaker Karan Johar and his ex-bestie Kajol had had a fall out a while ago, a fact revealed by KJo’s book, The Unsuitable Boy, details of which were out in early 2017. KJo wrote about the bitter rift, ending with: “And she can never come back to my life. I don’t think she wants to either.”

Looks like he was wrong — she can and she does.

When Karan posted the first-look pictures of his infant twins, Roohi and Yash, on August 7, Kajol was one of those who liked it on the social network. A source tells us that Karan had sent a baby photo to Kajol. “He wrote a long emotional text to her, saying that he is missing her, and Kajol responded as a sweet gesture,” says the source.

They decided to meet up on Kajol’s birthday on Saturday afternoon. Kajol had sent a message to the filmmaker, with whom she has worked in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

“Kajol sent a message to Karan and invited him on her birthday. There was no late-night bash but a small afternoon get-together. They met and had a good conversation,” says the source.

Actor Kajol invited Karan for her birthday lunch.

However, our source reveals that the reason for the hostility was different. “Karan did this just to sell his book… Two years ago at a party, Karan indulged in really loose talk about Kajol in front of an A-list actor. That actor, in turn, told Ajay Devgn about it. Ajay even asked that actor why, despite being Karan’s friend, he was telling [Ajay] about it. The actor said that if Karan could badmouth Kajol in front of him, [then] he could also gossip about him someday. Ajay was obviously furious — any man would be, if his wife was talked about in such light. So, he called Karan and abused him on the phone. He told Karan, ‘You can say what you wish about my film, but don’t talk about my wife and family,’” the source said.
