Kissing is like killing: Sushant Singh Rajput

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput feels both the acts need to look convincing on screen.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is excited about his first film as a solo hero — Shuddh Desi Romance. The one-film-old actor will be seen locking lips with actors Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor in the rom-com. “A kissing scene is same as killing somebody in the film. We have to be convincing. There is no sense of uncomfort. I don’t have any problem with it,” he explains.

The 27-year-old reveals that he had wanted to work with Parineeti since long. “I remember when I was shooting for Kai Po Che, I saw Ishaqzaade. I told Abhishek (Kapoor, director) that she is such a spontaneous, fab actor and I would really like to work with her. And luckily, I got to work with her in the next film. I learnt a lot from her,” he says. The former daily soap artist doesn’t want to be a star. “If you want to be a star, then you can compete with other stars. But if you just want to be an actor, you just want to learn and try different things. If I don’t get the right kind of films, I might go back to theatre or do short films. And I’ll be still as excited as I’m right now,” he says.
