Krrish gets a celebration song

Hrithik Roshan’s superhero sci-fi fantasy, Krrish 3, is racing to keep its Diwali 2013 deadline with the star and his producer-director father Rakesh Roshan shooting almost non-stop for the last two-and-a-half months. “When my family is away, I suddenly feel lost,” says the third Roshan, Rajesh, who’s been busy with the film’s score. “Two songs have been recorded so far and now I’m working on some romantic tracks.”

One of the songs has even been picturised. “It’s a celebration song, you don’t seen Krrish, but you hear people felicitating him, applauding all the good work he has done for the human race,” says Rajesh, admitting that following the phenomenal success of Koi…Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006), he feels over-burdened by the audience’s expectations from the franchise. “In an action movie, the focus is usually on the background music, but people are expecting good songs as well from Krrish 3. I’m hoping another miracle will happen.”

Ask him to pick his favourites from the previous albums and he zeroes in on ‘Idhar chala main udhar chala…’ and ‘Aao suno pyaar ki ek kahani…’ “The bigger challenge was ‘Idhar chala…’ because it required Hrithik who plays a developmentally disabled boy, to dance in the rain with the heroine, Preity Zinta, without it being a typical love song. Both, he and Preity, did a great job and Farah Khan’s choreography not only won her many of the popular awards, she also bagged the National Award,” Roshan says.
