Let the show begin!

At the premiere of Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai, the green carpet was flooded with celebrities, including Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Chitrangda Singh, Dia Mirza with boyfriend Sahil, Shriya Saran, music composers Vishal-Shekar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kamal Haasan.

Emraan Shanghaied!
At the premiere of Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai, the green carpet was flooded with celebrities, including Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Chitrangda Singh, Dia Mirza with boyfriend Sahil, Shriya Saran, music composers Vishal-Shekar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kamal Haasan.

The film’s director and cast were there too – all except Emraan Hashmi. “Uska paet kharaab hai (He’s got a upset stomach),” said Kalki, explaining his absence to his fans. Odd though, that Shanghai’s promotions in India almost always featured Emraan, but Abhay is the film’s face in Singapore.

The India show
All the actors at the Shanghai premiere were dressed by Indian designers. Kalki wore a Preeti Kapoor suit, Chitrangda a Promita sari, Shriya Saran was in a Manish Malhotra sari and Dia Mirza dressed in an Anita Dongre gown. Aditi Rao Hydari and Sameera Reddy also wore gowns by Gaurav Gupta and Arjun Saluja respectively. Gauhar Khan was seen in a Pria Kataria Puri gown.

Everyone’s a star
You know Singapore has succumbed completely to Bollywood fever when even Aftab Shivdasani is mobbed on arrival! Cheering and shouting, crowds of young Singaporean girls were at the airport to greet their favourite Bollywood stars. Aftab was the first to arrive and was met with excitement, but the cheers nearly brought the house down when Shahid Kapoor stepped out of the airport. Both actors obliged their fans with pictures and autographs.
