Even before the release of his debut film, Vicky Donor (2012), Ayushmann Khurrana had signed John Abraham’s second production, Hamara Bajaj. And although the project was announced almost a year ago, it is yet to go on the floors.

Ayushmann claims that this delay in shooting is being caused by Madras Café. “Since (director) Shoojit Sircar and (producer) John Abraham are busy with Madras Cafe, Hamara Bajaj’s schedule has been disturbed. The shoot for the film will now begin later this year. In the meantime, I am busy completing my Yash Raj films with Sonam Kapoor,” says the actor who is also gearing up for the release of Nautanki Saala.

When contacted, John rubbishes Ayushmann’s claim. “We, as a team, are excited and completely support Hamara Bajaj. We have finished shooting for Madras Café a little before time, so there’s no reason why this movie will affect the other.” Ronnie Lahiri, the co-producer of the project, adds, “Everything is on track at this point. Shoojit has wrapped up Madras Café and will now once again work on the script of Hamara Bajaj. There’s no delay. The film will go on the floors soon.”
