That’s because, Shreyas Talpade, who plays Akshay Kumar’s younger brother, Samip Khurana, speaks in an alien tongue. “I speak Golagoosey, the language of the ancient tribe of Paglapur. There were no reference points or lines written, so I had to keep improvising on the sets,” says the actor.

Golagoosey incorporates words from different languages in one sentence. Shreyas credits his wife Deepti for his fluency in it. “She calls me a copycat and demands that I pay her for the copyright,” he laughs, admitting that now his wife and he use the language to share secrets when in company.

Raise doubts about it being unintelligible to the viewers and Shreyas assures that, aided with expressive gestures, Golagoosey will be as easy to follow as Hindi. “Initially, everyone on the sets was stumped, but by the end of the shoot, most of the unit, including Akshay and the technicians, were saying ‘good morning’ and ‘shot is ready’ in my alien language,” he smiles.

He, however, admits that dubbing was a nightmare since he had to dub every line separately to get the lip sync right. He says, “Usually I wrap up dubbing in five days, this time it took twice as long, but it was fun!”
