Director Shekhar Kapur, has been toying with the script of a film based on water crisis for over a decade. And now, after all these years, he reveals that he planned to make it with the late Dark Knight actor, Heath Ledger.
Kapur had worked with Ledger on the 2002 war drama, The Four Feathers, and says that he had planned three more films with the actor, who passed away after an accidental drug overdose in 2009.

The director tweeted, "I had three films planned with Heath Ledger. Paani was one of them. I will dedicate them to Heath."
If rumours are to be believed, the director has now cast Hrithik Roshan for the part, and is looking out for a female lead. He was in talks with Twilight actress Kristen Stewart, but they failed to materialise.
Kapur also tweeted that the film’s script is finally falling into place, “Flying to London today to finalise Paani script with writer. It’s a great story, and a poetic script with a lot of rhythm in it.”
