At a time when everyone is speaking against Pahlaj Nihalani, Shatrughan Sinha endorses the Censor Board chief’s policies.

Censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani may be under a raging fire for the Censor Board’s objections to the content in the upcoming Shahid Kapoor-starrer Udta Punjab, but the outspoken BJP rebel Shatrughan Sinha , a close friend of Nihalani, continues to support and endorse Nihalani’s policies.

“Firstly, I haven’t seen Udta Punjab as yet. I will soon. But speaking purely from an objective point of view, Pahlaj is doing a thankless job, and doing it most efficiently. Filmmakers who attack him forget that he has not made the rules. He is only following the guidelines laid down by the government. Don’t shoot the messenger if you don’t like the message,” says Sinha.

Sinha says the censor laws need amendments. “Until that happens, don’t abuse the censor chief for clamping down on abuses. He is just doing his job. According to me, Pahlaj is the best chairperson of the censor board ever,” he adds.
