Known for his touching lyrics in songs such as Ma (Taare Zameen Par, 2007) and Chand sifarish (Fanaa, 2006) it is only natural that Prasoon Joshi is releasing a book that compiles some of his best works.

Today at the Jaipur Literature Festival, the National Award-winning lyricist will be launching his anthology which is titled, Sunshine Lane. The book features song lyrics from around 60 films and music albums that he has contributed to over the past decade.

Accompanying the lyrics is a one-page writer's note on each song that describes the thought process behind the song or an anecdote.

Prasoon, who started his career designing ad campaigns for top advertising agencies, made his Bollywood film debut with Rajkumar Santoshi's Lajja (2001). After that, he went on to work on films such as Hum Tum (2004), Rang De Basanti (2006), Black (2005) and Delhi 6 (2009).

His latest project is the Farhan Khan-starrer Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
