Actor Ajay Devgn’s film De De Pyaar De hits theatres on Friday and stars Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh as the female leads. While Ajay and Tabu were not present at the special screening of the film held on Thursday, several Bollywood actors including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt took out time to watch the film.
While Ranbir was in black casuals, Alia was a contrast in a white midi dress. The two posed for the paparazzi together post the screening.
De De Pyaar De actor Rakul Preet Singh arrived for the screening in white co-ords paired with a matching jacket. Javed Jaffrey and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor Sunny Singh , who has a cameo in the film, joined her at the event.
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana too arrived with wife Tahira Kashyap for the screening and made a unique style statement in colourful outfits. While Ayushmann sported a printed jacket, Tahira gave him company in a yellow printed dress paired with jootis and a huge colourful handbag. Ayushmann later took to Twitter to talk about the film. “#DeDePyaarDe is such a fun watch. Congrats @ajaydevgn sir, Tabu maam @Rakulpreet and the entire team. #LuvRanjan sir @LuvFilms @TSeries,” he tweeted.
Among others who came to watch the film were actors Soha Ali Khan with husband, Nushrat Bharucha, Kartik Aaryan, Nora Fatehi, Sanya Malhotra, Saurabh Shukla, Urvashi Rautela, Fukrey actor Varun Sharma and Aparshakti Khurana.
De De Pyaar De marks the Bollywood debut of film editor Akiv Ali. The film stirred a controversy for starring Alok Nath who was accused of rape by scriptwriter Vinta Nanda during India’s #MeToo movement. Ajay later clarified in a statement, “The decision to replace Mr Alok Nath could never have been mine alone. In this case, I would have to go with the joint-decision of the entire unit. Not to forget, I could not have brought the entire combination of actors back or put up sets again for a 40-day re-shoot because this would mean doubling the budget, which again wasn’t my call to make. It would have to be the call of the makers. Had circumstances played out even slightly differently, I would have pushed for a different combination of actors. Unfortunately, this was not to be.”
