Ranveer Singh, who is seen riding a vintage Ariel motorcycle in director Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera, now owns the very same bike. The company, Ariel, stopped manufacturing after 1970, but since this was a period film, Ranveer’s character is seen riding the vehicle.

The actor got possessive about it during the course of the shoot. “From the very beginning, he started hinting to the filmmakers that he would like to own it, and now they have obliged,” says a source close to the production.

Apparently, there are only three or four Ariel motorcycles in India, so the actor knew that it would be next to impossible to acquire the bike otherwise. “Most of them are with connoisseurs who wouldn’t part with the rides, whatever the cost. Ranveer, while shooting, got extremely attached to the motorcycle,” says the source.

Ranveer eventually made a request to the makers, asking if he could keep the motorcycle after the shoot. Confirming the development, Vikramaditya says, “Ranveer fell in love with the vintage motorcycle and he wanted it, so it was gifted to him.”
