Real bar dancers in Ekta’s next

After making Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Ekta Kapoor’s next film, Shor In The City, takes reality a step further by roping in real-life bar dancers for a sequence.



Apparently, one of the scenes required Tusshar Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi and Pitabash Tripathy to visit a dance bar and directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK wanted the scene to be as authentic as possible, so they got actual bar dancers to lend credibility to the film.



"We have mostly used real people in our film because the story is largely made up of various small reports we came across in newspapers. But I won’t talk specifically about bar dancers because it’s a very sensitive subject," says Krishna.

In fact, the makers have gone all out with the authentic touch since the film is based on stories from articles that have headlined the city newspapers over the past few years.



"Our film is a gritty portrayal of the city. And what’s better than picking up ideas from newspapers? So if a guy, who comes to Mumbai for the first time and gets robbed in a funny way, we have put it in the film. Although everything has been fictionalised, the core incidents actually took place," adds Krishna.



Rather than being shot on the sets, Shor In The City has been largely shot in dance bars, chawls and posh societies across Mumbai.



"Shooting in these locations has been worth it. There is no match for the rawness and energy that real locations offer. And it’s hard to recreate such things on a set. However, if one is shooting on real locations in Mumbai, you have to be made of steel," laughs Krishna.
