Rohit Shetty captures BO again: Singham Returns earns Rs 77.64 crore over weekend

After smashing records for day one collections at the ticket windows, Rohit Shetty's sequel to his 2011 hit Singham continues to rule the box office. Singham Returns earned Rs 24.5 crore on Sunday.

After smashing records for day one collections at the ticket windows, Rohit Shetty's sequel to his 2011 hit Singham continues to rule the box office.



The Kareena Kapoor-Ajay Devgn-starrer averaged Rs 77.64 crore within three days of its release.

Singham Returns has been made on an estimated budget of Rs. 115 crore. The film collected Rs 32.09 crore on day one and the collections slightly dipped on Saturday to Rs 21.05 crore. It picked up the earnings on Sunday and made Rs 24.5 crore.

Considering the fact that this is an extended weekend and Monday is a restricted holiday in most offices, the movie might well make an entry into the Rs 100-crore club by Tuesday.

Singham Returns might also cross Salman Khan's Kick in terms of box office collections. The Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut earned Rs 163 crore within a week and has done a business of above Rs 220 crore in the domestic market.
