Reacting to actor Salman Khan’s acquittal in the 1998 blackbuck and chinkara poaching cases, his father, scriptwriter Salim Khan, says: “It’s a huge relief for the family. We had total faith in the judiciary and the right verdict has come out. I was sure that my son would get a clean chit.”

Salman, along with seven of his co-actors from Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999), were accused of killing a blackbuck and a chinkara on two separate occasions. One was killed at Bhawad on September 26, 1998 and the other at Ghoda Farms on September 28, the same year.
