Shreyas turns Bollywood producer

After producing Marathi film, actor is now co-producing Chemistry, a romantic comedy that stars Soha Ali Khan.

From playing a deaf and mute cricketer Iqbal in Nagesh Kukunoor’s film by the same name (2005) to a man with many disguises in Dor (2006), actor Shreyas Talpade has garnered a lot of critical acclaim. He has also found his place in the commercial arena with Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 2 (2008) and Golmaal 3.

And now, Talpade has now gone a step further and floated a film production house called Affluence Movies Private Limited.The actor is co-producing a romantic comedy called Chemistry. Directed by Sahi Kabir, the film features Talpade, Soha Ali Khan

and Tanishta Mukherjee. Talpade had earlier produced a Marathi film called Sanai Dhoughade along with Mukta Arts.

He adds that if he achieves success with this one product, he will “feel confident to produce more”. “Even if I don’t, I will go ahead and do something else. I also want to direct films at some point and won’t wait to turn 50 or 60 to do that,” he says.

Talpade informs that he had sprained his foot on the sets of this film but is feeling better now. His next film, Vinay Shukla’s Mirch, is slated to release on December 17, which features four short stories. Talpade is part of one of the stories and is paired opposite Raima Sen. “I play a corporate guy who has a loving wife and a wonderful career. Life is good but he screws up everything because of doubts that stem from his possessiveness,” says Talpade.

However, in real life, he insists he has “never doubted his wife”. Talpade says, “I don’t know if she doubts me. She has very close male friends in her circle, so I do tease her about it.”
