Birthday girl Shruti Haasan: I think when I turn 40, I’ll slowly start to panic

Actor-singer Shruti Haasan, who turns 32 today, talks about how “special” she feels around her birthday.

Age is just going to be a number for actor-singer Shruti Haasan, until she turns 40. The actor, who turns 32 today, jokes that she will “start panicking” about her age, once she becomes a quadragenarian.

Actor-singer Shruti Haasan will celebrate her birthday in Los Angeles this time.

“I think when I turn 40, I’ll slowly start to panic and start thinking, ‘oh shit, I am getting old’. I think women generally do tend to panic about their age once they cross 40 anyway,” she laughs.

“But jokes apart, age is just a number. It doesn’t really matter whether I am turning 32 or 31, because I still feel the same about myself and I tend to not worry about the number,” says Haasan, who spoke to us from Los Angeles (US), where she plans to spend her birthday.

“I have always celebrated my birthday back home in India. But this time, as luck would have it, I got a a chance to be in LA for some work, and I will be celebrating it with my friends over here,” she quips.

In fact, Haasan is not big on planning when it comes to her career as well. The actor, whose last Bollywood film, Behen Hogi Teri (2017), saw her paired opposite Rajkummar Rao, can’t plan about “ the kind of movies” she wants to do in the future.

“I never really have a plan about how I want to see my career shaping up. I am usually caught up in the whirlwind and that’s how I get the movies. Behen Hogi Teri was also like that. It was something that I’d never done before, and I really enjoyed doing it. That’s how I’m going to be in the future as well, and I don’t think I can plan about what kind of movies I want to be a part of,” she says.
