Ayushmann Khurrana found fame with sperm donation. It seems erectile dysfunction will now take him places too. The Vicky Donor actor is acting with Bhumi Pednekar in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and the trailer has so much small-town India flavour that you will be watching it again, and again, and again. The film’s nub may be our leading man’s erectile dysfunction but it also deals with how premarital sex between consenting adults is seen in our society, the man-woman relationship and how India, wait Bharat, is changing when nobody is looking.

Ayushmann Khuranna and Bhumi Pednekar reunite for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

After teasing fans with a cute video on the theme of his story, Ayushmann Khuranna unveiled the first trailer of his upcoming film, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Tuesday afternoon. Bhumi Pednekar plays the perfect desi woman with a voice of her own in the trailer.

The two-and-a-half minute video shows Bhumi aka Sugandha as a desi, rustic woman who lives in a very traditional set-up but has a voice of her own and knows how to demand what she wants. Ayushmann plays Mudit, a young salesman who is way less confident than his woman.

This is the second time Bhumi and Ayushmann are pairing up after working together in the National Award-winning film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Shubh Mangal Savdhan is the remake of Tamil comedy, Kalyana Samayal Saadham. RS Prasanna, who also directed the original, will don the director’s hat again for the Hindi version.

The original film starring Prasanna and Lekha Washington, Kalyana Samayal Saadham was about a big fat south Indian wedding with a quirky twist.
