Sonam Kapoor’s Freaky Friday remake won’t hit the floors anytime soon as father Anil Kapoor has put the film on backburner, since no actor has been found to be appropriate to play Sonam’s mother’s role.

remake won’t hit the floors anytime soon. Father-producer-actor Anil Kapoor has put the Hindi remake of the Lindsay Lohan-starrer on an indefinite hold. Speculations about who in Bollywood will play the mother’s role, essayed by Jamie Lee Curtis in the 2003 Hollywood film, have been rife.

Kapoor apparently wanted to cast Kirron Kher as the mother, but she turned down the role. Then, Madhuri Dixit was approached, but she too refused as she felt the role “didn’t appeal” to her.
