Although her comeback film, English Vinglish (2012) impressed critics and the audience alike, Sridevi is yet to appear on screen again. Now, she is set to begin working on her next, which will be produced by her husband, Boney Kapoor.

“Sridevi doesn’t have any hard-and-fast rule about working constantly. She will make the effort only if she likes something. Boney was looking for an appropriate subject for his wife, and he has come across one that she likes as well,” says an insider.

The film is reportedly women-centric, with Sridevi as the protagonist. The insider adds, “Work on the script has begun, but neither of them wants to talk till everything is finalised. It’s going to be a very different and challenging project for everyone involved.”

If things go as per plan, the film should go on floors sometime next year. “Right now, Boney is busy with the release of his next, with son Arjun Kapoor. A sequel to No Entry (2005) is also on the list, so he has his hands full. But he is excited to see how a film with his wife works out,” says the insider.

When contacted, Boney confirmed that a script is being worked upon, with wife Sridevi in mind, but he refused to divulge more details. He said, “We will announce each and every detail once things are confirmed.”
