After the starry Shanghai premiere, star power only increased at the green carpet of IIFA Rocks at the Esplanade. Fans lined up hours in advance to catch a glimpse of the stars who came for the fashion and musical night, hosted by actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Chitrangda Singh.
Actors Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra danced on their Teri Meri Kahaani number Uff, while music composer duo Vishal-Shekar sang medley of their popular numbers. Singer Mika performed on his songs, Pyaar Ki Pungi, Tu Mera Hero, and Chinta Ta Ta, and designers Varun Bahl, Suneet Verma and Masaba Gupta put up fashion shows.
Actors Bipasha Basu, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranbir Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi were some of the new faces on the green carpet.
Bips turns the heat on
Actor Bipasha Basu turned heads on Day 2 of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Singapore on Friday. Looking ultra-sexy on the green carpet in a Shivan-Narresh grey sari with a bra-blouse, the actor attended the IIFA Rocks ceremony, also attended by actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Vivek Oberoi. Bips was so impressed by the crackling chemistry of the hosts of the evening — Ayushmann Khurrana and Chitrangda Singh — that she confessed to having almost called them a couple.
HT’s Cinema@100 launched at IIFA
Taking the celebrations of Indian Cinema entering its 100th year, ahead, Hindustan Times launched its coffee-table book titled Cinema@100 at IIFA rocks in Singapore on Friday evening.
Actor Rishi Kapoor and Chief Programming Officer HT Media, Gaurav Sharma, launched the book — a collection of India’s iconic films over the past 100 years, and has rare and original posters of some of Bollywood’s most celebrated films like Mughal-E-Azam, Sholay, 3 Idiots etc. “In sau saalon mein 80 saal Kapoor khaandaan ka yogdaan raha hai (In these 100 years, the Kapoor family has contributed for 80 years). It gives me pleasure and honour to release this book,” said Rishi Kapoor.

Norwegian actor Liv Ullman, who was accompanied by Shabana Azmi, both at the opening press conference of IIFA and at the press conference of her film, Liv and Ingman, apparently did not know the veteran Indian actor’s name! When we asked Liv about her favourite Bollywood actor, she turned to film sound designer Resul Pookutty and asked, “What’s the name of the one who gave me the dress?”
But it was not only Ullman who was the forgetful one on Day 2. At the IIFA Rocks green carpet held in the evening, actor Parineeti Chopra forgot the name of the designer whose outfit she was wearing.

Earlier in the day, actor Kamal Haasan addressed the press on his next film, Vishwaroopam, which he has also directed. “I never thought I wanted to be in front of the camera. There was this lurking Mr Hyde inside me who wanted to be behind the camera calling the shots,” he said.
