Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 saw a major dip in its box office collection on its first Monday - a 54% dip from what it earned on Sunday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures and revealed the film has earned Rs 5.5 crore on its fourth day of release. Marking the debut of Tara Sutaria and Chunky Panday’s daughter Ananya Panday, the film features Tiger Shroff in the lead.

Taran tweeted Tuesday morning, “#StudentOfTheYear2 declines 54.23% on Mon [vis-à-vis Fri]... Slows at plexes of Mumbai, Delhi, NCR [where it was performing best]... Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr, Mon 5.52 cr. Total: ₹ 44.35 cr. India biz. #SOTY2.”

After a decent opening of Rs 12 crore, Student of the Year 2 became the fifth highest Bollywood opener of 2019. The collections for the film soared a bit to Rs 14 crore on day two but the film has seen a downward trend since Sunday - after a small drop to Rs 12 crore on the third day, it earned a meagre Rs 5.5 crore on the fourth day.
