His Bollywood filmography is only restricted to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s movies — Phoonk, Rann, Phoonk 2, Rakht Charitra I and Rakht Charitra II. But southern superstar Kiccha Sudeep doesn’t mind.
“I have not got any reason from Bollywood to pick and choose. I have not got any good reason to comeback and do a film here. let me put it that way,” the 39-year-old told us while he was in the Capital to promote Makkhi, the Hindi version of his southern blockbuster, Eega.
“I came here and did some Hindi movies because Ramu wanted me to. It’s not about doing a Bollywood film for the sake of it. I’m doing very well in life right now. I’m getting good movies down south, which can ring a bell even up north. Even all the southern movies are coming up here (both in terms of releases and remakes),” added the self-confessed fan of Rajesh Khanna.
Meanwhile, he doesn’t shy away from accepting that “the Makkhi is the only character and hero” in his new film. Sudeep plays the antagonist in the movie.
But did he find it difficult to shoot solo in front of a blue screen? “There was nothing much of blue mat work except for some places. It was a fantastic platform for me to do monoacting. It was just my imagination working,” he said. “All our reservations were actually for the CGI work because even when the shooting was over, the fly’s look was not yet finalised,” he added.
