Actor-producer Sunny Deol, who is now gearing up for the release of the sequel to his 2011 hit, Yamla Pagla Deewana (YMD), has decided to not use the popular song, Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana (sung by Mohd Rafi in Pratiggya; 1975) in the movie.

The song featured in YMD, but Sunny has decided against using it in the sequel as he does not want to go through the trouble of acquiring the rights all over again.

For the sequel, he got music director Toshi Sabri to compose a fresh song which would go well with Dharmendra’s iconic dance moves.

“We would have had to go through a lot of formalities to use the song again in this film. Nowadays, it has become very difficult to obtain the rights. So, we thought of creating a new song,” says Sunny.

YMD 2 is being directed by Sangeeeth Sivan.

The prequel was directed by Samir Karnik. The comedy will bring Dharmendra and his two sons Sunny and Bobby Deol together again, in lead roles. The film will hit theatres on June 7.
