Shaitan director Bejoy Nambiar impressed the critics with his debut film produced by Anurag Kashyap, featuring an ensemble cast. Now taking his forte forward, Nambiar has put together an interesting troupe for his forthcoming film, David. He has signed Tabu, who has not been seen on the film circuit for a while, and danceuse-actor Isha Sharvani along side South star Vikram, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan (2010) as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s on-screen husband, Ram.

Mani Ratnam’s former assistant, Bejoy had worked with the National Award-winning director on Guru (2007) and Raavan before making his debut. His friendship with Vikram stems from back then. Of David, Bejoy explains that it’s a story driven film, which explains the casting.

While he refuses to reveal much about the film, apart from saying, “It goes on the floor by the end of this month.” A source from the unit is more forthcoming. He says, “The film is a commercial gangster thriller with a dose of comedy.

Both Tabu and Isha will be returning to Hindi films after a long time. While Tabu’s last successful Hindi film outing was Cheeni Kum (2005), Isha Sharvani also hasn’t been seen on the big screen after being paired opposite Farhan Akhtar in Luck by Chance (2009).
