Director Aanand L Rai is working at frenetic pace to complete the shooting of his next, which is a sequel to his 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu that starred Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan. This is because it will now release on May 29, which is two weeks before the date that was originally planned — June 12.

The first motion poster of the film is set to be unveiled soon, and Aanand has locked March 23 as the date for the same, since it marks Kangana’s birthday. “He was toying with a couple of dates, and as Kangana’s birthday was coming up, he decided to celebrate it by launching the first look on that day,” says the source.

Currently, the makers are trying to wrap up the last leg of filming in New Delhi, and so, they will host the launch event there too.

The source adds, “It will be a working birthday for Kangana. She will be shooting through the day and will launch the poster in the evening.”

When contacted, Aanand confirmed the development and said, “Kangana is an extremely special person and we share a close bond. This has been a truly memorable film for us, and as a gesture, I wanted to launch the poster on her birthday.”
