Third time Lucky

Tusshar Kapoor admits that he had doubts about playing his mute character again. His character Lucky who is speech less and leaves you speechless, says Tusshar.

For years together, actor Tusshar Kapoor hasn’t been home during Diwali. But this year he hosted a party at home on D-day in the hope that Golmaal 3 would fire up the box-office. He was joined by friends Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemmu and director-buddy Lovely Singh among others.

The actor admits that he had a few doubts when director Rohit Shetty approached him to play the mute Lucky for the third time: “Since there were so many characters, I wondered if I’d get much scope. But by the end of the first schedule, I could see that each one was springing a new surprise.”

Kapoor describes the shoot as a "paid holiday". Only the last day in Goa was taxing. An ‘aggressive’ sequence drained him, physically and emotionally.

Equally exhausting was his opening sequence. He was supposed to make his entry on a bike but when he reached Hyderabad, he learnt that the vehicle had changed. “I thought it would be easy driving over one car but going over three shook me up. And then, I was told that they had forgotten to switch on the camera so I would have to repeat the stunt,” he shudders at the memory.

Lucky’s spoke in the end credits of Golmaal Returns but Kapoor doesn’t want his character to be given any lines. He says, “What’s working for brand Golmaal is that Lucky is speech less and leaves you speechless!”
