“There is so much talent around, great directors I look up to. I’m lucky that I have a fantastic team working with me on these family entertainers that may not woo the critics, but seem to find favour with the common man. I’m prepared for the one star review now as long as I can say ‘Bol hit’,” he smiles.

Quiz Rohit on whether a sequel is on the cards and he says, “Well, after Singham released, I’d dismissed talks of a sequel, but then we came up with an interesting story that justifies taking Bajirao Singham back into the Maharashtrian hinterland.

Singham 2 should take off by mid-2013, after I wrap up Chennai Express, and release in 2014.” He adds, “I’m open to a Bol Bachchan sequel too, provided we get an original idea that works. I’ve had enough of South and old Bollywood remakes.”

He says, “They’re legends, we’re not. It’s just that I understand Ajay as an actor and he understands my kind of cinema. I guess that’s what is working for us. Abhishek (Bachchan) is family too. In Bol Bachchan, he shared great chemistry with Ajay. I’d like to bring their ‘jodi’ (pair) back if we can get a script that justifies their return,” he says.
