When questioned about the chances of Silk’s second outing, director Milan Luthria says that a follow-up to the critically acclaimed movie is highly unlikely, as the character inspired by Silk Smitha portrayed by actor Vidya Balan, dies in the end. The climax thus leaves no scope for the story to continue. “If there was to be another Dirty Picture, it would be an independent movie altogether, having nothing to do with Silk’s life,” Luthria says.
