Will Kill Dil be Govinda's grand comeback?

Yash Raj Films' Kill Dil, which releases in theatres on November 14, could well be the make or break film for many. But one actor who'll be following the box office dividends of the film most carefully would be Govinda: This is one outing that would determine the actor-turned-politician-turned-actor's very existence in the industry. To be fair to him, though, reports suggest that Kill Dil will once again establish Govinda as the king of comic timing in India.

Going by the promos, the film promises to be a comic treat, with all the big stars -- Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and Govinda -- pulling off great performances. In the first trailer of the film, Govinda's best trademark moves were showcased in bits of songs that were included in the 2:13 minutes long promo.

In fact, there is one complete song, Bol Beliya, which is filmed entirely on Govinda. The haunting expression on the actor's face is sure to scare the audience.

And if Govinda manages to pull off something on the lines of his previous film Shikari (released in 2000, he played an negative character opposite Karishma Kapoor and Tabu), will be the racing car he has been looking for his career.

This was also the time when he complemented his comic timing with some trend-setting styling: remember those floral printed shirts and weird sunglasses that made him the darling of both the masses and fashionistas?

Govinda did try to charm the audience with his comedy in the late 2000s and early 2010s with movies like Do Knot Disturb and Naughty @40 but those did not really help.

After Shaad Ali's Kill Dil, Govinda will also be seen in Saif Ali Khan's Happy Ending (Nov 28) and Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos (2015).
