Writer sends legal notice to Ghanchakkar makers, alleges plagiarism

UTV Productions, the makers of Ghanchakkar have reportedly received legal notice from a Nepal-based writer Dhirendra Kumar, Bollywood Hungama reports. The writer has also sought a stay on the release of the film.

Kumar alleges that the film is based on a script he had written. He has lodged a complaint with the Film Writers Association, claiming that he saw the trailers of Ghanchakkar and realized that it was actually his script that he had got registered in 2010- 11.

UTV, meanwhilem, told Bollywood Hungama that the claims made are absolutely untrue and they will soon send an official reply.

Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan-starrer Ghanchakkar directed by Raj Kumar Gupta is slated for release on June 28.
