James Rollins is a master storyteller (he has even scripted the 2007 Indiana Jones movie) and he’s back with what he does best — a bang-bang plot based on a scientific mystery. The premise of the lot — all species were once genetically and telepathically linked — is a bit hard to swallow, but the thrill around it will keep you hooked. The leading lady Lorna Polk is a sassy, beautiful woman and the hero, a sexy US Border Patrol agent Jack Mernard, have a back-story that adds to their chemistry. The genetically mutated animals challenge the imagination as you try and picture them. There are wild chases, crashing choppers, blasting boats and a whole lot of gunfire. Read it!
