There are many authors who write books to get it published and want the world to read it. But Tina Khamesra never wanted the world to read her writing. Right at the age of 16, Khamesra started writing poetry that reflected her feelings, thoughts and views on her family, friends, her job and the world around her. But for Khamsera, destiny had some other plans.

In 2008, after a severe head surgery followed by coma she passed away. She was 39. Her mother Rajni Khamesra went through a traumatic phase and it almost took over a year for her to come to terms with her daughter’s death. During this time, Rajni discovered some three to four diaries of Tina that were filled with poetries written by her.

“I was surprised, happy and sad at the same time. I didn’t know that my daughter who was so cheerful had such intense thoughts within her. I decided to compile her poetry,” says Rajni. Her first poem, This is called adolescence, is “something that all girls can find a link with and I can’t imagine that she wrote that when she was in class 12.”

After this Rajni went to Sterling Publishers. “This publishing house had never done poems earlier yet they agreed to do so.” The cover has Tina’s picture wearing a dress that she had designed herself. “She studied fashion designing and designed clothes for herself.” The book was released on July 14 by Delhi chief minister, Sheila Dikshit. Priced Rs100, it will be out in the market in August.
