Mithun Chakravarty's "little corner of Immortality" is now, playwright-director Anuvab Pal's Disco Dancer-A comedy in five acts. As a part of the Harpercollins 'Film Series', Anuvab Pal, director of The President is coming, writes a hilarious screenplay for Disco Dancer and says, "My journey to find an English comedy inside Disco Dancer is a sort of digging for treasure within the wreckage or spotting a genuine gold bar within a million gold-plated bars".

In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Pal says, "I wanted to write the screenplay to understand whether some of the central conflicts of the story that are supposed to play out as serious dramatic moments, play out as very comic. I think they do."

"I can't think of another movie that had such an impact on me that I would like to sit with the creators and see what they were thinking", says Pal," I've been wanting to remake it for years, maybe someday soon. But I would set it in the era it is originally set in. That's its charm. And see what retro appeal it now has.
