Of late, Divya Dutta has been suitably occupied with her debut as an author. The actor is penning an autobiographical novel, which she hopes to release in 2012. “I’ve been writing articles for newspapers and magazines. And writing is a very beautiful way of expression,” she says, adding, “It’s only halfway through. I’ve had myriad experiences till date, so it will have shades of me and reflect my life. I can’t put a deadline to anything. But it should release mid-next year.”

Meanwhile, she has also been in the news for an unusual reason. Her role opposite Makrand Deshpande in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s My Friend Pinto (MFP) is rumoured to be a spook on the Abu Salem-Monica Bedi romance. But Divya isn’t amused: “It’s a feel-good comedy with a lot of fun. I think such comparisons are commonplace, so one should watch the film and then take a call.”

Ask Divya if she replaced Manisha Koirala in the film and she says, “If Manisha had done the role, she would have brought in her own personality. She is a far senior actor and I really don’t mind doing a film that has been offered to another actor first.”

She is also excited about working in a film produced by Bhansali. “It’s an honour in itself. And he was backing all of us in a very positive way. It was exciting to be a part of his film world,” says the actor.

Next on Divya’s list are Dangerous Ishq and Zilla Ghaziabad: “Then, I am going to start on Heroine. Plus, I am going to work on two Hollywood projects next year. But I can’t talk about them right now. Fred Holmes’ Heart Land will release probably next year.”
