The embassy of Switzerland in India, in association with the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi, presents a photo exhibition curated by art historian Nathalie Herschdorfer, who also specialises in the history of photography.

Called Swiss Positions: 33 Takes on Sustainable Architecture, the exhibition displays the many forms of architecture in the country - rural, urban and suburban. It is a collection of photographs of key projects from the Swiss construction sector over the past 20 years. The best 33 projects displayed at the exhibit present architectural and engineering achievements of the nation through the eyes of various photographers.

For recreational architecture, the new Monte Rosa Hut, Zermatt, has also been captured, which forces the viewer to brood over tourism as an ally or enemy of sustainable development.
The unique exhibits explore different angles with regard to construction, materials, ecology and protection of the environment and show how sustainable development is not a readymade formula, but a group of varied architectural practices that raise a number of questions concerning both creativity and sustainability.
The thought process of a Swiss architect, who designs, renovates and rehabilitates buildings with sustainability in mind, comes out beautifully in the pictures displayed.
