A graduate in music from Punjabi University, Patiala, Money is super excited about his Bollywood debut. Mere Apne (1971), the directorial debut of Gulzar, featured Vinod Khanna, Meena Kumari and Shatrughan Sinha in lead roles. “I met producer Sunil Bohra during my shows
[for Mafia Mundeer] in Mumbai. He asked me if I could act and said, ‘Meri movie karega?’ The first thought in my head was that I needed to improve upon my acting skills to act in a Bollywood movie.

Besides, I always wanted to become an actor, not a hero,” says he.

And about his Punjabi movie debut, Ishq Dot Com, he says, “It’s a love triangle—Arya Babbar, Minissha Lamba and me—and is being directed by Sarvdeep Singh Munna and produced by Mannat Singh productions. The movie will also see Bollywood’s infamous Ranjeet Bedi playing Minissha Lamba’s father and Sharat Saxena playing my father’s role. Comedian Sudesh Lehri is also a part of the film, and the shooting starts from March 13, in and around Chandigarh.”

As for his singing, Money says, “I’m a part of Mafia Mundeer with Honey Singh, J-Star and Alfaaz. My first track, Aashke, was featured in the album International Villager in 2011. Recently, my second single track, Siftaan, was released, which managed to get 2.5 million views on YouTube in just a month-and-a-half.

Mafia Mundeer has been performing not just in Punjab, but throughout India. We never thought we would get to see an audience of 20,000 to 25,000 in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Indore and Roorkee!”
