The tie-up will enable residents of Bhopal in paying taxes and bills for utility services such as electricity and water, digitally. Bhopal Plus also provides a platform to apply for birth and death certificates, marriage registration and register complaints on civic amenities.

“This association is another in line with our vision to support Digital India and the government’s Smart Cities initiative,” said business head MobiKwik, Bikram Bir Singh.

“We are glad to partner with Bhopal Plus and contribute to the efforts of Municipal Corporation to make Bhopal a less-cash city. The partnership will allow people to pay for various services available at Bhopal Plus app and portal within seconds. MobiKwik understands that getting the bill paying user to pay online requires a behavioral shift, hence MobiKwik and Bhopal Plus together would be incentivising users to do online transactions, which would further give impetus to digital India campaign,” added Singh.

“We hope people adapt to paying bills through MobiKwik and work towards making India a digital country. MobiKwik and Bhopal Municipal Corporation would be incentivising digitally paying users with five percent cash back on bill payments,” said CEO, Bhopal Smart City development, Chandramauli Shukla.
