Besides, the load factor of these flights has also gone up to 69.17% against 67.7% in October 2009, a company press release said.

The average number of passengers flown daily on IC coded flights stood at 28,073 in October this year as against 25,255 passengers carried in the same period of last year, it said.

The increase in passenger carriage has been achieved as a result of the marketing efforts and a number of initiatives undertaken in the recent past in the form of various schemes, apart from introducing attractive fares on specific sectors, the release said.

In September this year, Air India launched its 'Happy Hours' scheme which offers an additional discount of 5% over and above the 10% discount for all bookings made on the Air India website between 12.01 am and 04.00 am, the company said.

A host of other schemes have also been introduced to perk up the sales, it said.
