November saw record sales with Maruti (60.1 per cent growth over last year), Hyundai (93 per cent), Mahindra and Mahindra (102 per cent) and Hero Honda (32 per cent) witnessing some of their highest monthly sales.
With no festivals that month, only two factors explain this: the low base effect of last November and a bumper wedding season.
“Last year, we had our best November. This year, we grew 32 per cent over that,” said Anil Dua, senior vice-president (marketing and sales), Hero Honda.
