“The fundamental premise of competition law is that any commercial activity has to be in the purview of competition law,” he said, adding exemption should only be given to sensitive sectors such as defence, atomic energy and currencies.
“Even state functions, when commercial (oil companies and parts of the railways) those cannot be exempted,” he felt.
