Delhi excise collections up

The Commissionerate of Central Excise Delhi-1 has recorded a 80% growth in revenue realisation during 2011-12 (period ending September) compared to the year-ago period.

The Commissionerate of Central Excise Delhi-1 has recorded a 80% growth in revenue realisation during 2011-12 (period ending September) compared to the year-ago period.

The revenue realised during the period stood at R287 crore compared to R160 crore during the same period last year.

The average national growth rate for revenue realisation was 9% during the period, Anup K Srivastava, commissioner of central excise, said in a statement. During the period, the commissionerate also audited 142 units resulting in detection worth R4 crore — up 80.7% against the year-ago period. A further R7 crore have been realised out of old pending arrears during 2011-12 against R4 crore in the year-ago period.
