Dr Reddy's net up 25%

India's second-largest drug maker by sales Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Wednesday reported a 25% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 263 crore for the quarter ended June against Rs 210 crore last year, driven by healthy a growth in the North America market.

The company's net income from sales and services stood at Rs 1,978 crore for the April-June quarter, compared to Rs 1,683 crore for the same period of the previous fiscal.

Geographically, North America contributed highest to the company's growth as revenue from North American countries grew by 39% to Rs 699 crore during the quarter. Revenue from Indian operations grew by 5% to Rs 360 crore during the quarter under review.

On a standalone basis, the company reported a net profit of Rs 454 crore for the first quarter, compared to Rs 245 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
