Exports decline 4.2% in May

India's exports contracted (-) 4.16% year-on-year in May to $25.7 billion hit by a demand slump in Europe, India's biggest export market. The latest figures came a day after data on factory output, which crawled at 0.1%.

The latest figures came a day after data on factory output, which crawled at 0.1%.

"We have also seen the IIP numbers. So you can correlate the reasons why exports have not done too well," said SR Rao, commerce secretary.
